Iran has presented a 10-point plan aimed at ending the conflict with the United States. These proposals come as President Donald Trump agreed to a two-week ceasefire, following mediation efforts by Pakistan
1. Strait of Hormuz Passage
Iran wants control over the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, coordinating with its military. This would give the country a key economic and strategic advantage.
2. End of Hostilities against Allies
Iran demands an end to military actions targeting all members of its regional allies, referred to as the “axis of resistance.”
3. US Military Withdrawal
The plan calls for US forces to leave all bases and deployment locations in the region.
4. Safe Transit Protocol
A system should be established to ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, while maintaining Iran’s dominant role as agreed in the protocol.
5. Compensation for Damages
Iran seeks full compensation for damages caused by the conflict.
6. Lifting of Sanctions
All primary and secondary economic sanctions against Iran should be removed.
7. Removal of International Resolutions
Iran requests the elimination of resolutions and oversight measures imposed by international organizations.
8. Release of Frozen Assets
All Iranian assets and properties that have been frozen abroad should be released.
9. Recognition of Uranium Program
Iran wants its uranium enrichment program to be officially accepted as part of the agreement.
10. Binding UN Security Council Resolution
All these points should be formally approved through a binding resolution by the United Nations Security Council.
The plan was conveyed via intermediaries, including Pakistan, as part of urgent diplomatic efforts to prevent the conflict from intensifying.
The United States called the proposal a “feasible foundation” for negotiations, indicating possible advancement toward a ceasefire and a wider agreement.
