Islamabad: The federal government has declared a new adjustment to pricing of petroleum products effective for the following three days. High-speed diesel is currently 66 paisa less per litre, where as petrol has decreased by 12 paisa per litre.
Although this cycle’s adjustment is minor, this type of change usually occurs every two weeks and offers some comfort to the transportation and logistics industry.
Why the Price Drop?
Sources say that this little change is caused by the world oil market’s modest stability. Some studies indicate that fuel costs might drop even further in the coming days given that ships have left the Bab El-Mandeb strait, a matter a minister recently discussed.
What Does This Mean for the Common Man?
Even a little cut like this has a cascading effect on transportation rates, freight costs, and daily household bills. Since diesel costs are directly related to bus and truck fares, a 66-paisa decrease is a minor but favorable sign for the supply chain.
What Comes Next?
Since petroleum prices are examined every 15 days, the next adjustment is not far away. If the world market holds steady, Pakistan’s gasoline prices might somewhat drop in the months ahead.
