If Palestinians Do Not Benefit from Trump’s Peace Board, We Will Withdraw from It: Indonesian President

Indonesia has made its position clear regarding the peace initiative introduced by former U.S. President Donald Trump, stating that the country will not continue supporting the plan if it fails to benefit the Palestinian people.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said that Jakarta’s participation in the proposed peace board depends entirely on whether the initiative delivers meaningful outcomes for Palestinians.

The statement highlights Indonesia’s consistent diplomatic stance of supporting a fair and balanced solution for the long-standing conflict between Palestine and Israel.

Indonesia Stresses Protection of Palestinian Rights

According to the Indonesian president, any international peace framework must focus on protecting the rights and future of Palestinians. He emphasized that Indonesia’s involvement in such initiatives is guided by principles of justice and international law.

If the proposed peace board does not address the concerns of Palestinians or fails to improve their situation, Indonesia may decide to step away from the initiative.

Officials in Jakarta believe that peace efforts must be inclusive and should not ignore the interests of the Palestinian population.

Indonesia’s Longstanding Support for Palestine

Indonesia has historically been a strong supporter of the Palestinian cause. As the world’s largest Muslim-majority country, it has repeatedly called for a peaceful and lasting resolution to the conflict.

The government has often supported diplomatic solutions that aim to establish stability in the region while ensuring Palestinians have the right to self-determination and political recognition.

Indonesia’s leaders believe that any peace agreement must be fair and provide tangible benefits for the Palestinian people.

Global Attention on Peace Efforts in the Middle East

International efforts to resolve the conflict between Israel and Palestine have continued for decades. Various peace proposals have been introduced over the years, but many have faced criticism or resistance from different parties.

Indonesia’s latest remarks demonstrate that several countries are closely monitoring peace initiatives and assessing whether they truly contribute to justice and stability in the region.

Diplomatic observers say such positions reflect broader global concerns about ensuring balanced outcomes in any Middle East peace negotiations.

Conclusion

Indonesia has signaled that its support for Trump’s proposed peace board is conditional. President Prabowo Subianto stated that if Palestinians do not benefit from the initiative, the country may withdraw from it.

The statement reinforces Indonesia’s long-standing commitment to advocating for Palestinian rights and supporting a fair and sustainable peace process in the Middle East.
